Jacobs Consultancy was formed with the merger of Sypher:Mueller International (Sypher), and Leigh Fisher Associates. The firm has over 100 airport professionals, and offices in Ottawa, San Francisco, Washington, London (UK), Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, Barbados and Jamaica. Our consultants have have undertaken over 3,000 projects in more than 70 countries in North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and Asia.

Jacobs Consultancy has provided airport planning services, either as the planning team prime or as a sub-contractor, for airports of all sizes, from Schiphol, Incheon and Kennedy, to Mustique in the Caribbean. Planning services include traffic forecasting, financial forecasting, technical and financial feasibility studies, capacity planning, assessment and simulation, master planning, terminal programming, airfield and terminal concept development, and airport system planning.

Integrated airport program development

Jacobs Consultancy designs and manages development programs for airfields, terminals and groundside facilities. We call our approach integrated program development because we bring to these infrastructure projects not only all aspects of design, construction supervision and program management, but also the financial analysis and management development capabilities to deliver affordable, functional facilities, well suited to their environment.

Airport retail and commercial planning

Jacobs Consultancy is a recognized leader in airport retail development. Many of the most innovative and award-winning airport retail developments worldwide have been undertaken by Sypher including Seoul, Vancouver, Amsterdam (Schiphol Plaza), Dulles, Dorval, Houston Bush, Calgary, Qatar, San Jose and Minneapolis.

Sypher’s team of consultants have been involved in airport security since the establishment of the firm in 1981.
