ADB Airfield Solutions is the leading airfield ground lighting (AGL) company in the ICAO and FAA markets, providing advanced, integrated and sustainable solutions for visual guidance. Our visual aids portfolio comprises the most comprehensive product range on the market, from LED lights to constant current regulators, and including various control and monitoring systems, to provide a customer-tailored ground movement control and surveillance solution. An extensive customer-service portfolio offers more than just warranty. LED airfield ground lightsADB is the technology leader for AGL LED products. We offer a full line of products that meet ICAO and/or FAA standards, covering all applications on taxiways, guidance signs, runway centerlines, touchdown zones and guard lights, wind cones, runway threshold identification lights (RTILs), and heliport lighting. Innovative LED lights feature long maintenance intervals and low energy costs, resulting in a lower lifecycle cost. AGL power equipmentADB has mastered all technologies for constant current regulators (CCRs) that power AGL circuits. Today our ferro-resonant thyristors and power transistor CCRs have acquired a prominent place in the market, thanks to their high reliability. ADB's CCRs offering includes stand-alone units, rack-mounted versions and cabling-free FAA-style cubicles, allowing optimal use of the space in the substation. Further AGL power equipment includes series transformers, L-823 connector kit and factory-moulded cable assemblies. Airfield lighting control system (ALCS)ADB's ALCS provides full AGL control and monitoring functionalities – for both air traffic control and maintenance users – and also allows interfacing with other airport systems. The ALCS is designed with safety, reliability and modularity in mind and has proven its reliability and performance for many years. Individual lamp control and monitoring system (ILCMS)ADB's ILCMS, which is branded AGLAS, is a key component in ALCS and A-SMGCS solutions for fast control and monitoring of individual lights and providing failed-lamp location details. ADB's ILCMS uses the series circuit for communication, and has a unique flexibility in communication set-up for maximum performance. A-SMGCS ground-movement controlADB has the ability to integrate a range of ground-movement control functionalities typically found in A-SMGCS (follow-the-green) implementations (integration of surveillance data, conflict detection and prevention, and routing and guidance tools), all implemented through a user-friendly HMI. Systems for preventing and alerting runway incursionsADB is involved in the development of two runway-incursion prevention concepts. Runway status lights (RWSL) are an FAA initiative to reduce the risk of runway incursions. This is achieved through the combination of red-inset runway entrance lights (REL) at the runway entry points and red-inset takeoff hold lights (THL) for departing aircraft on the runway, both being automatically triggered by a surveillance system. ADB is now deploying this AGL concept at US airports. The ADB runway-incursion alerting system (RIAS) concept is intended to provide a direct and visual local reaction at the location of the event to the personnel involved (pilot/driver), in combination with an alert to ATC. Solar airfield lightingADB solar airfield lighting offers a compact, self-contained, portable airfield lighting solution that can be deployed and repositioned in a matter of minutes – no trenching or digging required. Operational in numerous mission critical operations around the world, from desert conditions to below freezing temperatures. ADB solar aviation lights provide peace of mind and offer portability and flexibility hard-wired options simply cannot match. Turnkey AGL projectsADB's reputation as a total solution provider with an unrivalled level of know-how is based on a vast array of in-house system engineering services in its day-to-day operations, especially for turnkey projects. Whether you're looking for consultancy, financial engineering, engineering and site survey, project management, or installation and commissioning, ADB is your right partner. AGL servicesGrowing economic pressures and technical complexity are forcing our customers to focus increasingly on their core business. Often the maintenance of their equipment is outsourced to companies such as ADB, which has the right skills and experience. As a future-oriented partner, we have designed customer service modules combining operational and maintenance support, logistics support, and training. AGL R&D, engineering, manufacturing and distributionBoth the ADB offices in Brussels (Belgium) and Columbus (Ohio, US) combine all activities of our complete products and solutions range, including R&D, engineering, manufacturing and distribution. All these activities are joined together under one roof, to strengthen our internal communication and maximize our effectiveness.
