Materna IPS is an integrated passenger services brand providing automated passenger handling solutions.
Our Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) solutions include applications for kiosk, online or mobile check-in, as well as secure access, self-boarding and automated bag drop systems
Our aim is to simplify the passenger journey at all points from check-in to boarding and increase efficiency for airports and airlines at the same time. With our integrated solutions, we can reduce waiting times, give passengers more flexibility and gain higher throughput.
Modular systems provide an individual fit for terminal design, space and local requirements. Together with our customers, we find the ideal solution to optimise passenger and baggage handling.
Different hardware partners and designers develop our products with vast expertise and aviation knowhow. These include check-in kiosks with a robust layout for maximum use that are equipped with modern technology and components for scanning, reading and printing.
Materna IPS is a leading supplier of self-service bag drop units, with the largest number of installations at airports worldwide. With many years of experience, airports in India, North America, Japan, Scandinavia, Germany and the UK trust in Materna’s self bag drop products with multiple units either as newly installed solutions or retrofit kiosks.
Automatic gate solutions for pre-security access, lounge access or self-boarding are also part of Materna’s Integrated Passenger Services portfolio. They give passengers access to secured areas at the airport and are equipped with modern technology to check validity and avoid misuse of boarding passes.
With more than 200 gates in operation, Athens International Airport and Swedavia have the largest installations in Europe.
Expertise in software development has allowed us to deliver our own CUSS platform and application for self-service check-in and bag drop solutions, which are CUSS and IATA RP 1701 f-compliant and support multiple airline departure control systems. Materna IPS follows recommended practices such as IATA RP 1706 C for CUSS, IATA RP 1741 for CUWS and IATA RESO 753 for baggage tracking.
Airports and airlines benefit from Common Use software and equipment, which saves terminal space and time. In addition, we offer CUSS-based solutions, as well as Common Use web services.
When it comes to passenger identification at certain airport service points, we are able to integrate biometric solutions directly at the kiosk. Materna IPS is a system integrator that assimilates different types of biometrics solutions and software at the passenger touchpoints. Together with established hardware partners, we integrate authentication solutions such as face recognition, fingerprint and iris identification according to our customers’ requirements.
To secure future-oriented services and technologies, we continuously improve our solutions and integrate biometric identification at all passenger check-in, bag drop, security and boarding stages.
The products help minimise queues and allow passengers to move seamlessly through the terminal. Our clever biometrics solutions have been awarded as smartest technology of the year 2018.
