Reflex-Rol UK was founded in 1983 and specialises in solar and glare control for airport control towers. The Reflex-Rol Aviation system was designed specifically for the window shapes and angles of air traffic control towers. Reflex-Rol offers a complete consultancy, design and installation service worldwide.

ON-SITE GLARE CONTROL CONSULTATION SERVICES

Before contracts are signed, we offer on-site consultation with the customer. Demonstration samples will be provided in order for the customer to come to a well-balanced decision. Our engineers can be deployed worldwide but as part of the programme we offer training to on-site personnel.

Glare and dazzle in the tower can be disastrous, it is therefore of paramount importance for the correct daylight-filter to be chosen. Reflex-Rol will visit your airport and advise accordingly.

There are many variables to be taken into account before specific calculations can be made, values determined and recommendations made. These include

• Specific location regarding adjacent buildings and countryside
• Each facade in relation to the sun's path
• Height from the ground
• Building design
• Technical properties of glazed unit such as glass type, cavity size and cavity content

REFLEX-ROL UK SOLAR AND GLARE CONTROL PRODUCTS

We manufacture two groups of solar glare control products: the Reflex-Rol series and the First-Rol series.

Reflex-Rol is a single non-sealed unit with integrated solar reflector foil and operating system. First-Rol is a single, double-glazed and sealed unit with integrated reflector foil and operating system.

Products in each group have an individual application profile and technical specification. Reflex-Rol and First-Rol can be trimmed and shaped to fit any square, rectangular, trapezoidal or triangular window design and can be installed in a vertical, inclined or horizontal position. REFLEX-ROL 3000 STANDARD HEADBOX

The type 3000 headbox is for manually operated or Romo-Eeprom 24V motorised systems for drops of up to 3,500mm. The unit has plated aluminium / zinc end plates and automated cleaning-brushes can be included as an optional extra.

FIRST-ROL HERMETICALLY SEALED UNIT

First-Rol is a single, double-glazed and sealed unit with integrated reflector foil and operating system. First-Rol's operating system is fully automated and can be adjusted electronically via wall mounted or infrared remote control. Its control system can also be integrated with a building's central control system.

REFLEX-ROL VUNO GLARE CONTROL SYSTEMS

Vuno systems are commonly used in trapezoidal or triangular roof light installations where the blind travels from the bottom upwards. Vuno can also be installed in any other window configuration. The rationale for Vuno in a standard window is that the immediate vicinity close to the window can be shaded while natural daylight is allowed to enter the upper parts. Vuno comes to the fore during particularly the winter months when with the incidence of low sun angles is increased.

REFLEX-ROL FIXED SOLAR AND GLARE CONTROL PANELS

In situations where full roller systems are not economical or practical, semi-fixed panels, making use of the same high capacity reflector foil can be installed. These panels can be easily removed for window cleaning and other maintenance purposes.

CONTROL METHODS AND SHADING MATERIALS

Systems can be operated manually, electro-mechanically or electronically offering a top-to-bottom or a bottom-to-top drop. Depending on the sizes of the shades, 24VDC motors, 110VAC or 230VAC motors will be deployed.

Reflex-Rol produces a range of shading materials, the AR760 being the airport and control tower standard. Other materials are also available for more standard office type installations, whether a normal vertical window, inclined or horizontal skylight. The Aviation system can also be deployed in many other non-standard-shape windows.
