Last year Novosibirsk Tolmachevo International Airport served 4,634,166 passengers (-31.3%). The number of passengers on domestic routes was 4,087,771 (-16.6%), on international – 546,395 (-70.4%).

The rate of decrease in passenger traffic at Tolmachevo airport at the end of 2020 is lower than for the airports of the Russian Federation as a whole (-41.7% according to 11 months results).

In 2020, 1.37 million transfer passengers were served at Tolmachevo airport, their share in the total passenger traffic was 29.6%.

The most dynamically growing domestic routes of the year were: Voronezh (+ 105.4%), Anapa (+ 57.7%), Novokuznetsk (+ 52.3%), Ufa (+ 50.2%), Sochi (+ 26.4% )), Chelyabinsk (+ 18.6%) and Norilsk (+ 15.8%).

Over the twelve months of 2020, the airport handled 30,770 aircraft departures (-7.3% over the same period last year), in December – 2,833 (-1.7%).

In 2020, cargo traffic amounted to 34,158 tons (+ 0.05%), including 3,448 tons of cargo and mail (-6.6%) in December. At the end of 2020, Tolmachevo became the second airport after the airports of the Moscow Air Hub in terms of cargo traffic.

Last year, due to government support, new flights were opened from Novosibirsk to Volgograd, Orenburg, Grozny, Kemerovo, Barnaul, Ulyanovsk, Magnitogorsk and Nizhnekamsk / Naberezhnye Chelny.

The cargo transit flights program has undergone significant development. Flights with technical landings in Novosibirsk on the routes from China to Europe and back were performed by such foreign airlines as Smartwings, Alitalia, ASL Airlines Belgium, C.A.L. Cargo Airlines and others. The airline partners of Tolmachevo Airport – Cargolux, Cargolux Italia, SkyGates, Russian Post, Aviastar-TU, CargoLogicAir have significantly increased their flight program.

Novosibirsk Tolmachevo International airport named after A.I. Pokryshkin is the largest air transit hub beyond the Urals on the key routes between Europe and Asia. At the end of 2020, it ranks 7th in terms of total passenger traffic among Russian airports.
