FATA (Rosaviatsia) Encourages Airport Development Projects

A working conference was held on 8 July at Tolmachevo airport on the project ‘Reconstruction of the airport terminal complex Tolmachevo, Novosibirsk’ under the chairmanship of Mr Anatoly Pchelin, the head of airport operations department of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).

During the event, the participants reviewed the apron, artificial runways IVPP-1 and IVPP-2, as well as the construction site of stages 2.2 and 3 of the construction of the object ‘Reconstruction of the airport terminal complex Tolmachevo’, the tender for the performance, which was won in December last year by JSC Novosibirskavtodor.

The reconstruction of the airport terminal complex Tolmachevo has been divided into three stages, the second stage has been divided into sub-stages 2.1 and 2.2. JSC Novosibirskavtodor is implementing the stages 2.2 and 3 of this project.

This project includes the development of the artificial runway IVPP-2 flight zone with the construction of connecting taxiways, of an apron with additional 20 aircraft parking spaces, and the construction of other airfield infrastructure facilities in order to increase the capacity of the Tolmachevo airfield. The total area of the apron with taxiways according to the plan will be about 266,700m².

Tolmachevo Airport in Russia serves as a transfer hub for flights between Europe and China.
