FALCON will be in Rivière-du-Loup on 16-17 September for the Réseau québécois des aéroports (RQA) conference!

FALCON sciences/research and development assistant director Sarah Gagnon and CEO and president Pierre Molina will give a presentation on 17 September at 1:30p.m: Wildlife risk assessment at airports has always been challenging, and assessing risks associated with off-airport lands is even more complex. For over a decade, FALCON has been sharing its methodology based on Safety Management System (SMS) principles. Two years ago, the process was updated. This presentation aims to demonstrate how to broaden the application of this methodology to assess land use risks surrounding airports. The goal is to support planning efforts for both airports and municipalities. This approach has been used to assess various projects near airports, including residential developments, golf courses, storm basins, and parks. Land use around airports plays a vital role in local wildlife dynamics and the overall safety of airport operations.

We will also have a booth for the duration of the event. Come meet us to learn more about what we do! We look forward to seeing you there!
