The 140t KSLV-1 will carry an experimental satellite, the Science and Technology Satellite No 2, jointly designed by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology.
The launch vehicle recently completed a cold flow test that examines the liquid-propellant rocket engine without firing it to verify the integrity of the propulsion system and the conditioning of the flow of propellants.
Korea intends to carry out the lift-off by August 2009 before the rain-soaked months of September and October.
