Bangladesh intends to implement a 2008 deal with Boeing for eight aircrafts worth $1.27bn.

Boeing was to supply four 777-300ER by 2013 and four 787-8s Dreamliner aircraft by 2020 to state-owned Bangladesh Biman Airlines, Reuters reports.

A US Embassy spokesperson told the news agency that Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had given assurance over the deal during a recent visit by Boeing officials.

In April 2008, when the deal was signed, Bangladeshi officials declared that they may also be willing to purchase two additional planes worth about $110m.
