Enhanced Baggage Tracking Regulations, and the Impact on Airlines, Airports and Ground Handlers

By Ultra Electronics Airport Systems

Baggage mishandling rates have decreased by more than 65% since 2007. This is due, in part, to the increased use of automated baggage tracking across the industry.

The airline industry mishandled more than 23 million bags in 2015: and almost half of these were mishandled simply because they were transfer bags.

By first identifying bags that aren't where they should be, locating those bags, and finally restoring them on their correct path, we could reduce mishandling rates even further.

This white paper explores some ways in which this can be achieved, and examines how Ultra's solutions can contribute.
