Goodrich, the lead systems integrator for the ORS-1 programme, is also providing a ground segment that formats the data from the sensor payload for downstream processing, exploitation and dissemination.

The ORS-1 spacecraft bus, built by ATK Space Systems, is based on its TacSat-3 bus.

The satellite will provide a multispectral imaging capability to support US Central Command’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission needs.

The integration paves the way for environmental and acceptance testing that will lead to satellite delivery in the final quarter of 2010.
