Qatar Airways will receive the first model of the A350 XWB aircraft from Airbus by the middle of 2013.
Nearly 53% of the A350 XWB’s parts are made of material that will reduce the weight and fuel consumption of the plane.
The acquisition of the A350 will enable Qatar Airways to adapt to international developments in the aviation industry.
The purchase order is part of the airlines plan to purchase 80 Airbus A350, 24 Airbus A320, 60 Boeing 787, 32 Boeing 777 and 220 new aircraft for $40bn.
