Bombardier Aerospace has received a contract from Libyan African Aviation Holding Company for three CRJ900 next-generation aircraft with an option for an additional three.
The CRJ900 aircraft will be operated by Libyan Airlines, a subsidiary company of Libyan African Aviation Holding Company.
The contract is valued at $131.5m, which can increase to $267.8m if all three options are used.
Libyan African Aviation Holding Company Chairman Captain Sabri Shadi said the CRJ900 aircraft will lower operating costs, increase passenger comfort and reduce environmental impact.
Libyan Airlines currently operates three CRJ900 and two CRJ900 next-generation aircraft in a two-class configuration with seven business-class and 68 economy-class seats.
