With the ATR 72-600s, the flag carrier will replace its current fleet of five Dash-8 300 aircraft.

The aircraft will also enable the carrier to add new frequencies linking Trinidad and Tobago and surrounding destinations.

Several of the new ATRs will also be operated in the route network of Air Jamaica, recently acquired by Caribbean Airlines.

ATR will begin deliveries in late 2011.
