Airbus will provide two more A330-200F freighter aircraft to Malaysia Airlines, following the conversion of two existing options.
The new contract brings the airline’s firm orders for the aircraft to four, which will be operated by the carrier’s subsidiary MASkargo.
MASkargo managing director Shahari Sulaiman said that the aircraft would enable the company to efficiently match capacity closely to demand on many medium-lift sectors across its cargo network, and specifically those operating via intra Asia.
The aircraft for the airlines will be powered by Pratt & Whitney’s PW4000 engines.
The A330-200F is a modern mid-size, long-haul, all-cargo aircraft that can transport 65t 4,000nm or 70t 3,200nm.
