Boeing has begun assembling its 1,000th 767 aircraft at its facility in Everett, Washington, US.
The assembly began with loading of the wing spar, the internal support structure that runs through the full length of the wing, into the assembly tool.
The 1,000th airplane, a 767-300ER passenger model is due for delivery in February 2011 to long-time customer All Nippon Airways.
The Boeing 767 family, including the 767-200ER, 767-300ER and 767-400ER models, is a set of airplanes for the 200 to 300-seat market that can fly up to 6,600nm at a typical cruise speed of Mach 0.80.
