Qantas Airways’ fleet of 747-400ER jetliners will receive landing gear exchange, repair and overhaul services from Boeing under its new 747-400ER landing gear overhaul and exchange programme.

Qantas will use the Boeing service centre repair network for quick and reliable access to landing gear exchanges, repair and replacement around the world, reducing maintenance time for its aircraft.

Boeing has served over 500 airplanes under its landing gear overhaul and exchange programmes for 717, next-generation 737, Boeing Business Jet, 757-300, 767-300, 777-200ER/-300/300ER, MD-11 and 747-400ER/ERF models.

The firm will begin the service from 2011.
