The space shuttle Endeavour has received a new docking and navigation technology payload.

The Sensor Test for Orion Relative Navigation Risk Mitigation (STORRM) system prototype has been installed and will be tested on the STS-134 mission to the International Space Station .

The system prototype consists of an eye-safe light-detection and radar Vision Navigation Sensor (VNS), a high-definition docking camera, avionics and flight software.

STORRM includes two hardware components – the Sensor Enclosure Assembly (SEA) and Avionics Enclosure Assembly (AEA).

The SEA was mounted in front of the shuttle’s airlock, while the AEA has been placed in bay 3 on the port side of the payload bay.
