Boeing has granted full approval for the use of Skydrol PE-5 hydraulic fluid in all its earlier and current aircraft.
Skydrol PE-5 hydraulic fluid is now approved and listed in the Boeing material specifications and qualified products lists as a type V fluid in DMSQPL2014.
It is also marked as type V grades A and C in BMS3-11N.
Solutia vice-president of business management, technical specialties Greta Senn said that the team had invented a ground-breaking new aviation hydraulic fluid, demonstrating successful manufacturing capability and had undergone exhaustive flight service testing.
