TransDigm Group is to acquire the stock of Semco Instruments for about $73.5m.
Semco manufactures proprietary, highly engineered components for all major turboprop, turbofan, and turboshaft engine manufacturers.
Significant platform applications include the ERJ 170/190, ATR 42/72, Dash-8, the Cessna, Lear and Raytheon family of business jets as well as a broad range of commercial and military helicopters.
Semco’s customers include Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand, Sikorsky, Honeywell, General Electric and the US Government.
TransDigm Group chairman and CEO W Nicholas Howley said that Semco fits well with its strategy and allows the expansion of content for certain engine applications.
