Honeywell will provide primary avionics components for guidance and navigation of the Atlas V rocket to United Launch Alliance in a follow-on contract.

The firm will supply the fault-tolerant inertial navigation unit (FTINU) and the redundant rate gyro unit (RRGU).

The FTINU and RRGU work together to perform inertial measurement functions and to provide computer processing capability for the inertial and flight software.

Delivery of 25 FTINUs and 38 RRGUs will begin in late 2010 and continue until September 2016.
