Azerbaijan Airlines will acquire two next-generation 737 airplanes in place of a 767-300ER and two 767 freighters from Boeing.
Azerbaijan Airlines president Jahangir Askerov said it was capitalising on this development, expanding its long-haul passenger fleet and growing cargo business with the 767 freighter.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes Sales vice-president Marlin Dailey said with the economic recovery gaining momentum at various speeds around the world, its customers are making changes to their fleets to accommodate the upturn.
“We have worked with Azerbaijan Airlines to make changes to its order book that meet its needs,” he said.
Including the new order, the airline has a total of eight Boeing airplanes on order including two 767-300ERs, two 767 freighters, two next-generation 737s and two 787-8s.
