Boeing has begun work on a 787 final assembly and delivery facility in Charleston, South Carolina, US.
The 1.2 million square foot facility will aid Boeing in performing final assembly and delivering 787 Dreamliners from north Charleston across the world.

Boeing commercial airplanes 787 final assembly and delivery, Charleston, vice-president and general manager Marco Cavazzoni said that the facility will expand the company’s production capability and strengthen the 787 programme.
The Charleston facility currently fabricates, assembles and installs systems for the 787 aft fuselage sections and integrates mid-body fuselage sections from other structural partners.
Production at the unit is expected to begin in 2011 and the first 787 will roll out of the unit in the first quarter of 2012.
