Arianespace’s second Ariane 5 of 2010 has begun its assembly process in French Guiana.
The 50.5m Ariane 5 is a heavy-lift launcher that places satellites in to the geosynchronous transfer orbit.
The core cryogenic stage, serving as the vehicle’s main propulsion system provides up to 116t of thrust in a vacuum.
At present, the launch vehicle’s core stage has been integrated with two boosters for the mission.
The rocket will carry a dual payload of communication satellites into space in its flight.
The first Ariane 5 is currently in preparation for integration with its two satellites for scheduled lift-off later this month.
