A green Boeing 737-800 has been launched by South African carrier Kakula in an effort to demystify air travel.
The pea-green livery has the aircraft parts pointed out in plain English making it easier for passengers to relate to the jet.
The plane, known as Flying 101, is covered in text. For example the rudder is described as the steering thingy, the co-pilot as the other pilot on the PA system and avionics as fancy navigation stuff.
Kulula marketing manager Nadine Damen said the branding idea has been created as a part of the carrier’s 2010 strategy to demystify air travel.
Flying 101 forms a part of a fleet expansion plan by the low-cost South African carrier that will introduce eight Boeing 737-800s with a different liveries.
