Airbus is expecting its sales of aircraft in 2010 to remain flat despite recovery in global air traffic volume.
The firm is anticipating orders for 250 to 300 aircraft in the year, compared with 310 in 2009 and 900 in 2008, according to Reuters.
Airbus sales chief John Leahy at the Singapore Air Show was quoted by Reuters as saying that the world’s economy appears to be on a recovery path and so is global air travel passenger volume.
About 25%-35% of the 2010 orders are expected to come from the Asia-Pacific region, according to the Airbus sales chief.
Airbus plans to manufacture about 20 A380s, and expects a sale of about ten of the superjumbo jets in 2010.
