The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will receive support services from Tetra Tech for its navigation, landing and lighting systems under a new contract.
Under the navigation technical assistance contract, the firm will provide services for the planning, research, development, implementation, sustainment and decommissioning of the systems.
Tetra Tech will also aid FAA transition to an integrated ground and space-based navigation systems architecture and support its modernisation initiatives including the next-generation air transportation system (NextGen) effort.
The two-year contract has a base period of two years valued at $70m which would go up to over $200m if the five one-year options are exercised.
Tetra Tech chairman and CEO Dan Batrack said the US commercial aviation industry is expected to carry one billion passengers annually by 2021.
