Airbus has received a 2009 year-end order for 20 A320 family aircraft from Turkish Airlines.

The order includes a mix of A319s and A321s and exact numbers of each will be finalised soon.

The A320 family can carry up to 185 passengers a distance of 3,700nm at a speed of Mach 0.82.

The air carrier will fly the airplanes to expand their domestic and regional routes.

The new order brings the number of Airbus Aircraft owned by Turkish Airlines to 36 including four A321s, ten A330-300s and two new A330-200F.

Airbus will begin delivery of the aircraft in 2011.
