The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) intends to undertake a mission to Mars between 2013 and 2015, after a lunar mission by Chandrayan-II.
ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair was quoted by PTI as saying that depending on the type of experiments different scientific communities propose, they will be able to plan the mission.

“Mars is very much on our agenda,” he said.
The Mars mission is expected to be a low-cost mission like Chandrayan-I, which was valued at about $100m.
India has approved seed money worth $2.1m for various studies and experiments, route of the mission and other related details of the mission.
Mission studies have already been completed and currently ISRO is calling for scientific proposals and scientific objectives.
