Lockheed’s Maritime Systems and Sensors (MS2) business unit has received a maturity level 5 appraisal for the capability maturity model integration (CMMI) for development.
Lockheed’s MS2 business process has received the CMMI Level 5 rating, following a third-party evaluation, to ensure that they are repeatable, consistent, predictable, and focused on continuous improvement and eliminating unnecessary costs.
Programmes, including the Aegis ballistic missile defence 4.0.1 weapon system, DDG-1000 sensors and systems, and the enhanced AN/TPQ-36 (EQ-36) counterfire target acquisition radar, represent the business in the CMMI Level 5 appraisal.
The CMMI Level 5 rating also includes, the joint strike fighter integrated core processor and the Spanish S-80 diesel submarine integrated combat system.
The CMMI rating is often used by the Department of Defense to determine a company’s ability to successfully meet requirements throughout the life cycle of a programme.
