Boeing has completed the review and analysis of the static test to validate the side-of-body modification made to the 787 Dreamliner Aircraft.
Boeing has also completed final gauntlet testing on the first 787 aircraft, within two days, since it only required examining the improvements recorded during tests conducted earlier this year.
During the test on the 787 Dreamliner static test airframe, the wing and trailing edges of the airframe underwent their limit load, the highest loads expected to be seen in service that is required to clear the airplane for first flight.
The first flight of the 787 Dreamliner will take place after the final flight readiness reviews, receipt of documentation from the US Federal Aviation Administration and taxi testing are completed.
On 23 June, Boeing announced it would modify the side-of-body section of the 787, by installing new fittings at 34 stringer locations within the joint where the wing attaches to the fuselage.
