Airbus will provide two A330-200F freighter aircraft to Turkish Airlines under a new deal.
The aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce engines, offers two operational configurations, which include one carrying over 64t 4,000nm and the other 69t up to 3,200nm.
The freighter has an optimised fuselage cross-section enabling it to carry a wide range of pallet and container sizes for maximum interlining capability, offering 30% more volume than other freighters in its class.
The aircraft will be used to support Turkish Airlines’s ambitious growth plans, which include the expansion of its cargo operations.
The A330-200Fs will add to the carrier’s freighter fleet of four Airbus A310s from late 2010.
The A330-200F performed its maiden flight on 5 November 2009 and is on track for certification in 2010.
