The Intelsat-14 (IS-14) spacecraft is progressing in the final preparation stage before its launch on 14 November 2009.
IS-14, built by Space Systems/Loral, will supply high-powered video and data services through its C-band and Ku-band payload throughout the Americas, Europe and Africa.
The satellite will replace Intelsat’s IS-1R satellite once it enters service.
The spacecraft will also carry a hosted payload for the Internet Router in Space programme for Cisco Systems.
Lockheed Martin, contracted to place the IS-14 into an injected orbit at 315° east longitude, will launch the satellite atop an Atlas V launch vehicle.
