Hawker Beechcraft (HBC) is offering Forward Vision’s EVS-100 and EVS-600 enhanced vision systems (EVS) to operators of Bonanza and Baron aircraft.
The EVS, better known as a infrared or thermal imaging camera, helps to penetrate haze, fog, smoke and precipitation eight to ten times farther than the human eye in both night and daytime settings.
The system allows pilots to see unlit obstacles during taxi and take-off without any special programming and aids in avoiding clouds, flying between layers and noting detailed ground features out of the night landscape.
The EVS-100 and EVS-600 are line replaceable units that weigh less than 1.5lb and mount like any external antenna.
The technology will be provided as an option on factory-new airplanes and the Forward Vision STC-approved systems will be offered to Bonanza and Baron fleets around the world by HBC service centres.
The systems will first be offered by STC on the Bonanza and then followed by STC for the Baron aircraft.
