AgustaWestland and Kaigai Aviotech Corporation have received an order for a AW109 Power helicopters from Japan’s Alpen Co.

The AW 109 light, twin-turbine-engine helicopter can fly up to seven passengers a distance of 512nm at a maximum cruise speed of 154kt.

The firm will use the AW109 for VIP / corporate transport purposes and will operate it from Nagoya.

The latest order further expands the presence of the AW109 Power in the Japanese helicopter market, for VIP / corporate transport and law enforcement applications.

Alpen manufactures and retails sports equipment including ski and other sporting goods such as golf, tennis, marine sports, baseball and leisure goods, and manages ski resorts and golf courses.

AgustaWestland signed a distribution agreement with Kaigai in 2007 for the sale of AW109 Power, AW119 Ke and Grand commercial models in Japan.
