Oman air has received the first of seven A330-200 aircraft from Airbus.
The A330, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, has capacity to seat 293 passengers in the twin-class layout and can fly up to a distance of 6,750nm at a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.86.
The aircraft will enable the airline to introduce long haul flights for the first time, and will be initially deployed on long-haul routes from Oman to London, Paris, Frankfurt and other Asian destinations.
The airliner is be first of the seven A330s ordered by Oman Air in 2007, to be acquired under a lease agreement between the carrier and Dublin-based AWAS.
