Moog, a leading control component manufacturer, has announced plans to acquire the UK flight control actuation product line of GE Aviation Systems, a GE operating unit.
The UK operation designs and manufactures high-lift actuation systems for the Boeing 777 and 787 and the Airbus A330 and A380.
The facility also supplies primary flight controls for the Typhoon fighter and a main engine lift system for the Rolls-Royce engine on the STOVL version of the US joint strike fighter.
The product line, with 2008 sales of approximately $100m, would complement Moog’s aircraft controls segment.
Moog’s aircraft segment is projecting fiscal 2009 sales of $652m.
