Rolls-Royce has won a deal to power RotorWay International’s Eagle 300T helicopter with its RR300B1 engines.
Rolls-Royce Helicopter Engine Business president Ken Roberts said the gas turbine engine will enable RotorWay to expand on the range of piston-powered helicopters in their product portfolio.
The Eagle 300T, a new helicopter launched by RotorWay, will be used as a turbine trainer craft to practise cargo slinging operations.
The RR300B1 engine is the second model of the RR300 family that can perform in the 240shp to 300shp range, has a multifuel capacity and features an embedded engine monitoring system.
The engines will be delivered through 2017.
RotorWay International is a kit helicopter manufacturer that produces high-performance light helicopters.
