Rockwell Collins has concluded flight testing of a wide area augmentation system (WAAS) localiser performance with vertical guidance (LPV) solution for the Hawker 800XP aircraft with Pro Line 21 integrated avionics system.
The WAAS/LPV will help reduce costs for Hawker 800XP by lowering minimum decision height and will provide more approach options.

A supplemental-type certificate offered by the company will enable 800XP operators to use at least 1,500 LPV approaches with minimum decision heights of 200ft.
Operators upgrading to GPS-4000S can use WAAS in the US to simplify operations, eliminating receiver autonomous integrity monitoring check.
Rockwell Collins will complete about 15 certified WAAS/LPV solutions over 2010 for a range of Pro Line 4 and Pro Line 21 aircraft by Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault and Hawker Beechcraft.
