Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has conducted a ground test for the H-IIB Launch Vehicle using a ground test vehicle (GTV).
During testing the GTV was equipped with a flight engine and four rocket boosters.
The H-IIB is an evolved version of the H-IIA launch vehicle that will carry the H-II Transfer Vehicle to the International Space Station.
JAXA plans to meet broader launch needs by combining the use of the H-IIA and H-IIB launch vehicles.
The test was conducted in association with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
