Rolls-Royce has been awarded a $2.2bn TotalCare long-term services contract by Emirates, which covers Trent engines for 70 Airbus A350XWB aircraft.

Emirates president Tim Clark said the TotalCare contract would allow the company to effectively manage A350XWB engine lifecycle costs and maintain high standards.

TotalCare long-term service agreements help reduce customer financial risk and enhance operational performance and reliability.

Rolls-Royce civil aerospace president Mark King said TotalCare packages would add significant value to the Emirates fleet and allow customers to optimise their operations.

The company was previously awarded a $1.2bn TotalCare contract for Trent 700 engines powering 27 Airbus A330s and Trent 800 engines powering 21 Boeing 777s.
