Virgin America has announced that it has entered into a deal with Sabre Airline Solution – SabreSonic Customer Sales and Service to handle its reservations system.

As part of the agreement, Virgin America will use Sabre’s AirCentre Operations system to organise its flight operations and crew scheduling functions.

In addition, the airline has renewed its 2007 Sabre global distribution system agreement that allows Sabre Connected travel agents to access its low-fare flights and ancillary revenue offerings.

Virgin America president and chief executive David Cush said, “Moving to Sabre’s integrated reservations and operational platforms will enhance our revenue reach, improve our operating efficiencies and further position us for growth.”

The airline said it would enforce the new reservations and operational systems in late 2011.
