Cargolux, which has been fined €79.9m ($109.4m) by the European Commission, has said it has decided to file an appeal against the EC penalty.

In November 2010, the European Commission fined 11 airlines a total of €799m ($1.11bn) for operating an airfreight cartel, in violation of European competition laws.

The airlines involved included Air France-KLM, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Japan Airlines, Cargolux Airlines, Air Canada, SAS and LAN Chile.
