Rolls-Royce has received a contract worth $250m from Cathay Pacific for long-term service and support for its Trent 700 engines on eight recently acquired Airbus A330s.
Rolls-Royce will offer Hong Kong’s flag carrier its TotalCare service and an enhanced engine refurbishment programme for the RB211-524 engines on Cathay Pacific’s existing Boeing 747-400 aircraft up to 2013.
Cathay Pacific maintenance engineering director Christopher Gibbs said, “This contract will enable Cathay to realise the benefits of TotalCare on the Trent 700 and ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our Rolls-Royce-powered Boeing 747 fleet.”
Cathay Pacific is currently Rolls-Royce’s biggest Trent 700 customer.
