GE Aviation has unveiled a plan to develop a new Electrical Power Integrated Systems Research and Development Center (EPISCENTER) at the University of Dayton campus in Ohio, US.
The $51m centre will be built on about eight acres on the university campus by US-based developer CityWide Development.
The 115,000ft² facility is expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2012 and will be operational by 2012.
The centre will be directed at several markets including end-to-end electrical power starter/generation, conversion, distribution, and load technologies for civil and military aerospace applications.
