Airbus is to deliver four A380 aircraft to Japan’s Skymark Airlines under a memorandum of understanding.
Skymark will operate the aircraft on major international long-haul routes from Tokyo.
The A380’s take-off and landing performance will allow it to operate on the shorter 2,500m runways at Japan’s Narita and Tokyo Haneda Airports carrying a full passenger payload and cargo.
The aircraft can travel up to 8,100nm carrying 525 passengers at Mach 0.89.
