Rolls-Royce has made progress in understanding the cause of the engine failure that forced a Trent 900 powered Qantas A380 jet to make an emergency landing.
The A380 Qantas flight QF32 made an emergency landing after a mid-air engine explosion on 4 November over the Indonesian island of Batam.
Rolls-Royce said the incident was specific to the Trent 900 engine.
The company has signed an agreement for a series of checks and inspections with Airbus, operators of the Trent 900 powered A380 and the airworthiness authorities.
