Boeing has predicted that China will require 4,330 new commercial planes, valued at $480bn, over the next 20 years.
The company said that, during the forecast period, China’s fleet size would triple, making it the largest aircraft market outside the US.
Boeing forecasts that 71% of China’s demand will come from single-aisle aircraft, with total deliveries to reach 3,090.
The single-aisle and intermediate twin-aisle combined market will make up 92% of China’s total delivery dollars.
Boeing forecasts a 70-aircraft order in the large airraft category in China.
Chinese air carriers will order about 330 freighter planes by 2029.
