Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has received its first B737-800 from Boeing.
MAS managing director and chief executive officer Tengku Datuk Seri Azmil Zahruddin told Bernama TV that the airline had placed an order for 55 such aircraft and would take delivery of three more by year-end.
“We are proud to announce that we will be the first full service airline in the world to operate the B737-800 with the new Boeing sky interior,” he said.
The 160-seat aircraft is fitted with an in-flight entertainment system, which will include audio and video on demand, a more spacious interior, improved ambiance, higher ceilings and mood lighting.
