Fokker Services and GKN Aerospace have developed a new SkyView Window for converted Boeing Business Jets.

The SkyView window will be the first of its kind to be certified for the business aviation segment.

GKN Aerospace will supply the first set of 1.5m-long windows to Fokker Services in December this year, under a contract.

The windows will be built using GKN’s patented Crystal Vue II coating.

Fokker Services will install the acrylic SkyView windows into the passenger cabin of a converted BBJ 737-700 aircraft. Each aircraft can fit up to four SkyView windows.

Fokker Services president Peter Somers said: "This innovation re-confirms Fokker Services position as a creative design and completion organisation offering a new way to experience VIP air travel."

The companies are showcasing a full-size window at the ongoing EBACE event in Geneva, Switzerland.
